The unveiling of the stone commemorating the Rebecca
Riots went very well despite the rain.
The Chair of the Llanedi Community Council, Lynne
Vonk unveiled the stone
The local historian and author Gwyn Griffiths gave a
small speech at thre unveiling.
Then the great grandson of the man, who people now
believe pulled the trigger of the gun that killed the toll gate keeper
also gave a speech, claiming in 1843 there was a reward of £500 but nobody
stepped forward to claim the reward.
